Dear SCCS members, The upcoming SCCS general member council (meeting) is postponed to 05/10/09. Time: Sunday, May 10, 2009 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm Place: C112, Engleman Hall, SCSU Agenda: 1. Report from the school administration team 2. Next years school budget vote by general members 3. Report from the school PTA 4. Report from the school board 5. Discussion and vote of the school boards by-law change proposal by general members 6. General members vote on the appointment of the school principal candidate nominated by the school board 7. Vote by general members on the candidates of new board directors and PTA leaders These reports, proposals and candidates resumes shall be available for members to check at our school website: www.ynhchineseschool.org by 05/08/09. Notice about the upcoming election and school leadership recruitment: Please consider to be a candidate! You can join the school board, the school PTA, or the school administrative team! Our school needs you, your great ideas, your energy, and your willingness to serve! During the upcoming SCCS general member council (meeting) on 05/10/09, we will elect board directors and PTA leaders for the next term. There will be seven positions open (pending by-law change) for board directors and many openings for PTA leaders (ideally at least one of them should come from school teachers). For the definition of these positions, please check the school by-laws at http://www.ynhchineseschool.org/prod_v08/Files/BylawsPassed2007-10-7.pdf. An amendment to the current school by-laws will be submitted by the school board on 05/10/09 for the approval by the school council. The suggested amendment will be posted on the school website before the general member council (meeting). The success of our Chinese school depends on the volunteer work of our members; we encourage you to consider join the voluntarily leadership team. Our Chinese school needs fresh ideas, new energies, and great commitment to server our school and our community. If you are interested in becoming a candidate for these leadership positions, please email your brief statement (up to 500 words and also indicate the position you are interested in) to board@ynhchineseschool.org before midnight on May 5, 2009. (please note the date change!). In addition, after the new school principal is appointed by the School council, there will also be positions open for the school administrative team, including the school provost, and three vice principals. If you are interested in any of these positions, please start to think about it now and contact the new school principal after the new school principal's official appointment on May 10, 09. The new school administrative team may be appointed shortly after the election as early as May 17, 09.
