Mr. Ratner has substantial experience in all of these areas. He has been a successful Reading and Writing SAT and PSAT tutor for more than ten years. His tutees have averaged 100 – 150 point improvement. His successes have been recognized by libraries throughout Connecticut which have selected him as community service, free of charge, Reading and Writing test preparation seminars.

He also tutors high school and college students in all aspects of language arts, including essay and term paper writing, and time management. His results in this tutoring mode have also been striking and are also demonstrated by strong test results and parental letters of appreciation. He tutored a challenged student at Amistad Academy in English and Writing and improved his reading scores three grade levels in six months. At Betsy Ross Magnet School, Mr. Ratner tutored students in Language Arts and significantly improved test scores in all sections

His educational and prior professional experience is at the highest level. He is a CUM LAUDE graduate of Trinity College (B.A. in English); and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He is a former legal associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett (widely recognized as one of the premier law firms in the United States), where he specialized in appellate brief writing.

Mr. Steve Sang will join SCCS SAT Enhancement Summer Camp as Math and Grammar instructor. Mr. Sang was a scientist in BMS at Wallingford before he opened his own Kumon center at Cheshire. He has extensive experience in tutoring math and grammar for students of all ages. In the 10-day enhancement camp, he will have 6 days to review the different topics of math and 4 days in test strategy. In grammar part, he will focus what was lack in regular school curriculum and focus more on general rules in grammar and test strategy. It will be a best way to improve test score in the short period.
